Teachers, your students will be fully engaged at the Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum properties. Our interactive exhibits are hands-on and minds-on! Kid-tested and teacher approved! Our historic buildings help to tell the story of an 11 year-old boy whose father died unexpectedly, causing the boy to leave school and earn his own keep in the world. Sam Clemens lived in Hannibal from the age of 4 to 17. Those who know the stories of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn will feel as though they have stepped inside the pages of the books – the people, places and events happened here in Hannibal, and we have preserved the legacy and brought the tales to life. Students love to explore the buildings and discover the treasures and artifacts on this exciting self-guided tour. All learning should be this much fun! We even provide a Scavenger Hunt for students, and you may want to look over our 100+ teacher-created free lesson plans before your arrival!
