The Taste of Twain Wine, Food and Beer Festival

The Taste of Twain Wine, Food and Beer Festival showcases great Missouri and regional wineries, Local, State and Regional craft breweries and Hannibal area restaurants with two stages of live music, all surrounded by the Historic Homes of the Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum.  Stroll through the variety of over 30 booths of wine, food and beer located throughout the Mark Twain Interpretive Center parking lot and gardens of the Mark Twain Boyhood Home.

Our Local, Missouri and Regional Wineries

Hannibal’s own Cave Hollow West Winery will be at the event with samples of their featured wines.  Enjoy a variety of wines from Stone Hill Winery, Missouri’s oldest winery in Herman, MO.  Also included in the Taste of Twain are the wines of Don Sebastian and Sons from Sonoma County, California, and the Ursa, Illinois wines of Spirit Knob Winery.  Lost Vineyards will be at the Taste of Twain with samples of their Tiki Sangria.

Our Local, State and Regional Craft Breweries

Hannibal’s own Mark Twain Brewery will feature for the first time, two new beers at the Taste of Twain.  Other breweries include O’Fallon (St. Louis) with their new Pumpkin brews, Oktoberfest style beers from Odell (Fort Collins, CO), Urban Chestnut (St. Louis), Sierra Nevada Brewery (Chico, CA & Mills River, NC), and Bell’s Brewery (Columbia, MO).  There will be two brand new releases from Odell Brewery; “Sunny Rain” Golden Tart and “Rupture” Fresh Grind Ale.  Several IPA’s, Pale Ales, Stouts, Sours, Porters and Brown Ales, Cream Ales and Wheat beers will also be included at the Taste of Twain!  Other breweries at the Taste of Twain include, Bur Oak Brewery (Columbia, MO), Friendship Brewing Co. (Wentzville, MO), Deschutes Brewery (Blend, Oregon), and Lagunitas Brewing Company (Petaluma, CA and Chicago, IL).  And more….Members of the Hannibal Area Home Brewers Association will also be on hand to discuss home brewing methods, offer samples of their brews, and discuss brewing processes for those that may be interested in making their own brews.

Our Hannibal Restaurants

Over 13 Hannibal Restaurants will provide samples of some of their best dishes.  Stop by for tastings from The Mark Twain Dinette, The Rustic Oak Restaurant, La Azotea, the Mark Twain Brewery, Badger Cheese Haus, Ole Planters Restaurant, Big Muddy BBQ, Finn’s Food & Spirits, Golden Corral, Rumor Has It, Hannibal Country Club’s Riverside Restaurant, Hyvee at the Cave and Huckleberry Bakery & Bistro.  From smoked pulled pork to homemade root beer to desserts, the Taste of Twain brings the best of what Hannibal has to offer in cuisine into one location.

Our Bourbon and Cigar “Lounge”

Wood Hat Spirits from New Florence, MO will be sampling their award-winning bourbons.  Noted as the first craft distillery in Montgomery County, they are the only wood-fired distillery still operating in the country.  Cigar connoisseurs will enjoy the variety of cigars available for purchase from the Green Door (Kirksville, MO) in the cigar “lounge”.

Two Stages of Live Music Featuring Hannibal Artists

Taste of Twain includes two stages of live music!  Featuring Frate (Seth Wade) and Mike Moore with a variety of original and covers on the acoustic stage and the sounds of jazz, rhythm & Blues and all our favorites on the main stage located on Hill Street near the Boyhood Gardens.


About The Taste of Twain

The Taste of Twain is a fundraiser in support of The Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum Properties.  The festival is sponsored by The Mark Twain Brewery, Golden Eagle Distributing and Lohr Wines & Spirits of Ladue, MO.  Guests will receive a special souvenir tasting glass (limited supply) provided by the Mark Twain Brewery and enjoy unlimited tastings.

The Taste of Twain Wine, Food and Beer Festival will be held September 16 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on the grounds of the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum, Hill Street.

Arm bands for the event can be purchased in advance, through the Mark Twain Museum offices at 573-221-9010 ext. 404.  Bands are $25.00 in advance and $35.00 at the event.  Must be 21 to purchase a band.
