Mark Twain CD Available for Radio Stations

Mark Twain: Words & Music, the double-CD that tells Twain's life in spoken word and song, is now available on AirPlayDirect, a program used by radio stations to download tracks for programming. Radio station programs can play clips of the CD and decide which tracks they want to download for airplay. Stations subscribe to the service, which then allows digital downloads.

"This is a more efficient way of getting the music to stations instead of sending them hard copies of the CD," said executive director, Cindy Lovell. "The website includes information about songs - musicians, singers, songwriters, along with other relevant information to help disc jockeys make selections. We're hopeful that the CD will get even more airplay now that the tracks are available in this digital format."

Lovell said the CD, which features Jimmy Buffett, The Church Sisters, Sheryl Crow, Joe Diffie, Clint Eastwood, Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris, Carl Jackson, Garrison Keillor, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Angela Lovell, Brad Paisley, Marty Raybon, Ricky Skaggs, Val Storey, Rhonda Vincent, and Bradley Walker, has already been downloaded by stations in Australia, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, England, and the Netherlands, reflecting the global appeal of Mark Twain. Buffett and Lovell have been interviewed for the Bob Edwards Show on SiriusXM, which featured clips from the CD, and several of the songs have already become favorites on bluegrass stations.

The CD is on the Mailboat Records label and is available for sale at the Museum and in other retail outlets.
