Twain CD Topping Sales on Amazon

Mark Twain: Words & Music, the double-CD produced by Grammy award-winner Carl Jackson as a benefit for the Mark Twain Museum, has soared in recent days topping sales on Amazon. The CD has been ranked #1 in Bluegrass and #1 in Spoken Word since the weekend when it also shot to #6 in Country Music, #26 in Pop Music and #28 in Music overall. The CD is carried on the Mailboat Records label.Artists on the benefit project include Jimmy Buffett (as Huck Finn), The Church Sisters, Sheryl Crow, Joe Diffie, Clint Eastwood (as Mark Twain), Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris, Carl Jackson, Garrison Keillor (as the narrator), Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Angela Lovell (as Susy Clemens), Brad Paisley, Marty Raybon, Ricky Skaggs, Val Storey, Rhonda Vincent, and Bradley Walker. The CD tells Twain's life in spoken word and song and is available at the Museum and other outlets.
"Sales for the CD have been excellent at the museum store," said director Cindy Lovell. "After people hear the CD, many return to buy extra copies as gifts. Online sales here have been tremendous with purchases from fans in Japan, Germany, England, Finland and elsewhere. Mailboat Records intends to market the CD globally, which is a wise plan considering how beloved Mark Twain is around the world."
The CD was released on September 21, 2011.
