Mark Twain Legacy CD Launch Party Tickets On Sale Friday, Nov. 19

~Limited Number of Tickets Available~

Hannibal, MO -- The Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum is planning a CD Launch Party on Tuesday, Nov. 30th at 9:00 p.m. at the Museum Gallery.  The event is planned as a “thank you” to honor the artists, donors and others who contributed to the project. The Museum hopes to release the CD on November 30th, which marks the 175th anniversary of the birth of Sam Clemens.  A limited number of tickets for the Launch Party will go on sale on Friday, November 19 at 9 a.m. for $150 each as a fundraiser for the Museum.

The Mark Twain Legacy CD, titled Mark Twain: Words & Music, combines spoken word and American roots music to tell the life story of Sam Clemens.  It was created to commemorate 2010 – The Year of Mark Twain – and is produced by Grammy award-winning producer/musician/singer/songwriter Carl Jackson who has written some original music for the project and recorded one of the songs.  Jackson plans to attend the event where he will be honored for his contributions.

Other artists who have added their voices to the star-studded project include: The Church Sisters, Joe Diffie, Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris, Garrison Keillor, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Brad Paisley, Marty Raybon, Val Storey, Rhonda Vincent, Bradley Walker and others.  Although all have been invited to the event, along with other artists, studio technicians, donors, and others who have lent their support, there is no guarantee they will be in attendance that night.

Cindy Lovell, executive director of the Museum, said, “We are planning this event on the 175th anniversary of Sam Clemens’s birth to honor his legacy and to thank those who have worked so hard to bring this project to fruition.  We are especially thrilled that Carl Jackson plans to attend the event and share the story segments and music from the CD with those in attendance.  We hope the other artists will join us as well, but that will depend on their very busy schedules.”
