Mark Twain Museum Receives $5000 Grant from Pioneer Fund

The Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum is pleased to announce the receipt of $5,000 from the Pioneer Fund of Denver, Colorado.  The grant will support operations of the museum.  The Pioneer Fund was established by the late Helen M. McLoraine to continue her lifelong support of organizations that serve the special needs of the community.  This is the second year in a row that the Pioneer Fund has provided support for the museum.

“We are grateful that the Board of Directors of the Pioneer Fund has again decided to support our endeavors,” said Cindy Lovell, executive director of the museum.  “Like non-profits everywhere, we find ourselves especially challenged by the economy.  The funds are deeply appreciated, and we are also gratified that they believe in our mission.”

The museum has taken on a full schedule of programs, events and activities for 2010 to honor the legacy of Mark Twain in the year that marks the 100th anniversary of the author’s death and the 175th anniversary of his birth.  Details are available online at http://marktwainmuseum.org.
