“The Man That Corrupted Hadleyburg” – February 5

The Mark Twain Museum’s “First Friday Film Festival” continues Friday, February 5, at 7:00 p.m. at the Museum Gallery, 120 North Main Street in Hannibal.

The featured film is “The Man That Corrupted Hadleyburg” starring Robert Preston and Fred Gwynne. This 40 minute feature brings to life the drama in Mark Twain’s story.

Hadleyburg is known for its honesty. Its townspeople seem incorruptible. Then a stranger arrives who observes this attitude and decides to corrupt the incorruptible town. Enjoy the action as one after another the stalwarts of the town fall as the story leads to a surprise ending.

Following the showing, Museum executive Director Cindy Lovell will lead a discussion of the story and film. Bring your snacks and join us for a memorable evening.
