Ron Powers Reception to be held at Mark Twain Museum

Hannibal, Mo -- The Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum will welcome Hannibal native Ron Powers at a wine and hors d'hoeurves reception on Sunday, Sept. 20th at 5:00 p.m.  Powers, a Pulitzer prize-winning author, supports the Museum by serving on its Advisory Board.  He has written three books about Mark Twain and recently collaborated with the late Senator Ted Kennedy on Kennedy's memoir, True Compass.  Powers will speak at this event and be available to sign books. The event will be held at the loft apartment of Kristy Trevathan.

The cost of the event is $20 and will go to support the Museum's endowment fund.  The Museum has launched a major fundraising goal - the "10 by 10" campaign to raise the endowment to $10 million by the end of 2010.  Reservations can be made by calling 573-221-9010, ext. 401.
