Tom and Becky Ambassadors to Host Endowment Fundraiser Picnic with Special Guest, Ron Powers

The Mark Twain Museum is pleased to announce an endowment fundraising event hosted by the 2009-2010 Tom and Becky ambassadors.  The Museum Gallery will be the site of a fried chicken picnic-style dinner on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 1:00 p.m.  The new Toms and Beckys will serve as hosts and hostesses for the event and will each speak on behalf of the Mark Twain Museum.  Special guest for the event will be Pulitzer prize-winning author and Hannibal native, Ron Powers, who will also give a brief talk.

The cost for the dinner is $15, with proceeds going to the Museum’s endowment fund.  An endowment goal of $10 million by the end of 2010 (the “10 by 10” Campaign) was recently established to ensure future operations of the Museum properties.  Reservations can be made by calling 573-221-9010, ext. 401 or by stopping by the Museum office at 120 N. Main St.  Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
