Hometown Stitches Quilt Challenge to be Exhibited at Mark Twain Museum

HANNIBAL, Mo – The Mark Twain Museum, in conjunction with the Hickory Stick Quilt Shop would like to present the 2009 Hometown Stitches Quilt Challenge. 

The quilts will be on display in Museum Gallery Auditorium starting September 5th. The entries will be judged based on originality and workmanship. The exhibition will last approximately one month.
 

In addition to the quilting challenge, on September 11th & 12th  the Hickory Stick, along with the Hannibal Convention & Visitor’s Bureau will sponsor two jam-packed days of exciting lectures and workshops about quilting and needlework, techniques and textile history. The lectures will be presented by nationally celebrated fabric designers, quilt designers and instructors such as: Lynne Hagmeier, Beth Ferrier, Christina DeArmond, Eula Lang, Kaye Spitzli, Jeanne Poore, Edie McGinnis and Hallye Bone.
 

Also, raffle tickets for a Mark Twain themed quilt are being sold to raise money for the Hannibal Chamber of Commerce Tom & Becky Program.
