Author to Speak at Mark Twain Museum

HANNIBAL, Mo – The Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum will present author Gregrhi Love for a book talk and book signing on July 2 at 6:30 p.m. Love authored the memoir, There Is An Urgency, which details his childhood of intense physical and emotional abuse. The book talk is scheduled in conjunction with an exhibition by The Heart Gallery, which exhibits photographs of children in need of adoption.

In 1980, Love was placed in his first foster home. While foster care was often horrifying, nothing compared to the daily near-death experiences he endured in his own family.

Now a classroom teacher, Love now uses his childhood traumas to change lives. He draws upon his experiences to help children who live in a similar world. Love’s unique perspective cannot be obtained from any textbook. There Is An Urgency explores personally traumatic experiences in an effort to make others aware that people like him walk among us every day and not only salvage their lives but become contributing members of society.

Love will be available to answer questions and sign copies of his book from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Copies will be available to purchase at the museum. Refreshments will be served.
