Great news! H.R. 2453, the Mark Twain Commemorative Coin Act, has 298 co-sponsors - 8 more than needed! Next up is the Senate version, S. 1929. When passed into law, this act will generate revenue for four non-profit Mark Twain sites. There is NO COST TO TAXPAYERS! We need your support. WHAT: This bill will generate funds for four non-profit organizations that preserve the legacy of Mark Twain: 1) The Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum in Hannibal, MO; 2) The Mark Twain House in Hartford, CT; 3) The Center for Mark Twain Studies in Elmira, NY; and 4) The Mark Twain Project at the Bancroft Library of the
University of California, Berkeley, California.
WHY: To help four non-profit organizations preserve the legacy of this great American at no cost to taxpayers. These are challenging times, and non-profits are receiving fewer donations than ever before.
